Suddenly, Grisse began to bombard him with one magic bolt after another, not giving him a chance to think and barely enough time to react. He knew he could not keep up under such a barrage unless Grisse tired before he did, and it didn’t seem to be happening. Jasper felt his knees give out, and he dropped to the dirt. With a shout of triumph, Grisse used his wand to pull in energy from all around him and, with a great toss, threw the stolen energy straight at Jasper.
